Full-Time Cook

Hoodles are looking for a full time cook who can demonstrate attention to detail while working well under pressure during busy spells. The candidate should be a natural in kitchen operations. Food hygiene certificate advantageous but not essential, full training will be given.

Location: Hoodles Playbarn and Coffee Shop, North Mains of Barra, Old Meldrum, AB51 0BB

Hours: Full time, Mon – Fri, 8-4 occasional holiday cover may be required

Salary: Hourly rate of pay to be discussed

The role:

  • Preparation of food, in particular breakfast and light lunches

  • Setting up, cleaning and organising of work stations and the kitchen environment

  • Handle multiple activities at the onetime whilst delivering food in a timely manner

  • Follow food health and safety procedures

  • Make sure all food is stored properly

  • Be able to order food from our suppliers to ensure a well stocked kitchen

  • Work includes the operation of hot machines such as ovens and grills

  • Work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure smooth running of the kitchen operations

To be successful at this role you will need to:-

  • Be able to multitask, prioritise, manage time efficiently and work well under pressure

  • Be self-motivated, self-directed with good communication skills

  • Be able to work well as part of a team and on individual tasks

  • Have previous kitchen experience

  • Have great attention to detail and most importantly an interest in creating and working with food

Part-Time General Assistant

Hoodles are looking for a general assistant who can demonstrate attention to detail while working well under pressure during busy spells. The candidate will be able to work in all areas of Hoodles, however the main duties will include washing of dishes, serving food to customers and clearing tables.

Location: Hoodles Playbarn and Coffee Shop

Hours: Part time 3 days per week, 9 till 3 (occasional weekend and holiday cover maybe required)

Salary: Hourly rate of pay to be discussed

The role:

  • Ensuring all utensils and crockery are cleaned to a high standard

  • Serve food to customers

  • Ensuring all areas of Hoodles remain clean, tidy and presentable

  • Clear and clean tables, chairs and floors

To be successful at this role you will need to:-

  • A fast learner

  • Good organisational and communication skills

  • The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to demonstrate good team work and ability to follow instructions
